HISTORY OF MUNTERCONNAUGHT HOMES PROJECT

You are invited to take part in a new community project. This is a huge undertaking, and with YOUR help, we will make ourselves proud, and you will be remembered for many generations. munterconnaughtheritage@gmail.com

Munterconnaught Heritage Society hopes to document all houses (homes) in Munterconnaught, and the history of each house and its occupants. Any information you have regarding any house (even if there is no sign of it now) is most welcome. Some houses may have been a sheet of galvanise over a wall, but, if it was somebody’s home, we would like to have it and its inhabitants acknowledged (and if possible what happened to these people – maybe they died there and are buried locally, or maybe they emigrated). In time this could be the only link or information that visitors have to their ancestral home. Photos are always welcome (houses/families etc. or some other distinguishing item).

We hope to use this information to compile a book, which will be a reference guide for many generations to come. This book may be the only lead that some of our descendants have to their roots in Munterconnaught. Use this project as a way to remember you and your family.

The online version of the form is available here

There are 14 townlands in Munterconnaught. Attached are the maps of each townland which may help identify houses or previous location of homes. Some townlands have been split into 2, because of their size.
